On October 31, 2014, we lost a space rocket, with two pilots aboard. According to BBC, “One pilot died and the other was badly injured when SpaceShipTwo exploded shortly after take-off on Friday.”
It was the first test flight after 9 months of intensive testing.
Virgin Galactic is a highly innovative company, trying to create space tourism.
The point is, that the rocket was burning a new type of fuel, never before used in flight. It went through extensive ground testing, but it has never been tested in the air.
The tests on the ground went fine, but the rocket crashed shortly after take off. It was a new environment for the fuel.
In life, nothing compares to the real-world experience. You can read countless books, watch inspiring movies and TV series, test your results, talk to people, and take part in seminars. Until you put yourself out there, you will never know who you really are and where you stand on your road to whatever goals you have set for yourself.
The “real situation” might be painful. If you prevail and get stronger, you will come closer to achieving your dreams, like a kid.
Sir Richard Branson added (BBC): “We owe it to our test pilots to find out what went wrong, and once we find out, if we can overcome it, we will make sure that the dream lives on,”
